Area of Research: His research is in the field of computational materials science, machine learning, quantum (bio)chemistry, molecular electronics, and condensed matter physics, and focuses on the development and application of atomistic and first-principles methods for simulating electronic, quantum transport, and thermodynamic properties of solid-state materials and molecules, Ab-initio molecular dynamic (AIMD), classical molecular dynamics (MD), and quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM-MM) simulations, surfaces, and interfaces, and for computationally-guided discovery and design of materials/molecules for structural and (bio)molecular sensing, spintronics, molecular switches, hydrogen storage, nano-optoelectronic-related applications. His current research work focuses on the development and application of new models for intermolecular interactions and to implement them as software, multiscale materials simulations, and machine learning for high-throughput screening of materials and their property prediction. at Georgia Tech. During his master’s thesis at INST, he worked on precise control over molecular spin-states through external stimuli, which is essential for technological applications of spin-crossover (SCO) systems and single-molecule magnets.
